South Africa has an Automotive Masterplan that aims to double employment in the sector by 2035. The automotive components manufacturing industry requires a pipeline of young people with technical and work readiness competencies to achieve this objective. Various industry organisations in the automotive component sector have developed and driving several skills development and job access initiatives, including the Automotive Industry Development Centre (AIDC).
The AIDC is offering Gauteng-based companies an opportunity to host an unemployed youth graduate in a technical field for 12 months. 30% of the stipend will be co-funded for one year. The graduates will be sourced by the AIDC and shortlisted for the company as per requirement.
