NAACAM congratulates Bosch Africa‘s Christine Phoko for her dedication to training and development within the Bosch South Africa organisation to bring about change in the lives of South Africans.
There is an increasing demand to close the skills gap and create employment opportunities in South Africa. Vocational training is essential to equip the youth of today with skills and knowledge to become active participants in the growth and change across the country as they are tomorrow’s future.
In 2012, Robert Bosch South Africa focus on training shifted to not only include skills development of internal staff members, but external youth, which are given the various opportunities at the company. At the Brits manufacturing plant, a training centre was established as an enterprise development project whereby all apprentices undergo vocational training. The company offers various training programs including apprenticeships, learnerships, experiential training, graduate specialist program and the “YES4YOUTH” programme.
