NAACAM Project Manager Nozipho Ngcobo recently visited Ghana alongside representatives from AAAM

– the African Association of Automotive Manufacturers; the German Association of the Automotive
Industry (VDA); automotive component manufacturers from Egypt, Germany; and NAACAM members including First National Battery, Robert Bosch and Alfred Teves Brake Systems (Pty) Ltd.
As part of the visit, NAACAM congratulated Nissan Motor Corporation and Japan Motors on launching their SKD assembly plant in Tema, outside Accra. The development of the facility follows an MoU signed in 2018 between Nissan and the Ghanaian government to work collaboratively to support the development of an automotive sector in Ghana.
Ms Ngcobo noted that the brand new state-of-the-art Nissan assembly plant was a great step towards developing the automotive sector in Ghana.
