Vuyiswa Mkhabela is a Project Manager at NAACAM focusing on skills development and NAACAM’s digital and traditional media content. Vuyiswa holds a B. Com Politics, Philosophy and Economics degree and a B. Com Economics honours degree from the University of Cape Town and the University of South Africa, respectively. Vuyiswa is currently completing her master’s degree at the University of Cape Town (UCT), specialising in Economic Development. At UCT, Vuyiswa has worked at the UCT Mandela School of Public Governance as an AfCFTA and Industrialisation Research Fellow. Her research interests include the link between industrial and trade policy, global and regional value chains, supplier development and issues around women’s participation in trade and manufacturing.
Before joining NAACAM and pursuing her masters’ studies full time, Vuyiswa worked as a Project Manager at an industrial development consultancy, focusing on projects aimed at building the competitiveness of manufactures in the textile and clothing sector, and pre-production and production skills development in the clothing and footwear sector in KZN.
