Women’s Month celebrated the strength and resilience of women and their contribution to society and our country. Last year, NAACAM commemorated Women’s Month by profiling its #AutomotiveAllies – women who are pursuing excellence and driving change in the South African automotive component sector. This year, NAACAM profiled the next generation of female leadership in the sector.
NAACAM recently launched a bursary and apprenticeship programme to support the development of critical technical skills in the components sector. The programme is generously funded by the Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services SETA (MerSETA), and is our flagship initiative to empower youth to participate in our sector. Over the next month, NAACAM will profile the female beneficiaries of the programme and their ambitions for the sector.
Shivani Singh, Commercial Director at NAACAM, believes that these women will be pivotal in driving meaningful diversity and inclusion in the components sector, and NAACAM is thrilled to provide them a platform to start their journeys. “These young women have made the bold choice to pursue a technical career in our sector, and we should all rally behind them as they start this exciting chapter in their lives”.
