YVES NONO

Yves Nono, Vice President of Bosch Mobility Solutions and President of Bosch Automotive Aftermarket for the region of Africa

Yves Nono, Vice President of Bosch Mobility Solutions and President of Bosch Automotive Aftermarket for the region of Africa, first joined Bosch in 2004. He has served in several functional roles including research and engineering, product management and business development across the Bosch range of automotive portfolios and OEMs for various vehicle segments. He was based in Germany for seven years, thereafter, spent six years in the USA, where he was instrumental in leading the product management portfolio of powertrain sensors and exhaust gas treatment systems.

Since 2018, Yves Nono took up the position of Vice President of Bosch Mobility Solutions with the African regional responsibility of leading Mobility Solutions Sales. In parallel to Yves’ current responsibilities, he was appointed Regional President for the automotive aftermarket, Africa regional responsibility effective, August 2020. He acts as the Africa regional managing director for the automotive aftermarket division, which is operating in more than 30 African countries and generating more than a billion Rand revenue annually.

As of January 2020, he has also served as a board member on the NAACAM NEC.

Yves holds a master’s degree in computer science engineering from the Mannheim University of Applied Sciences in Germany. In 2014, he completed the General Management Program (GPM) executive education at the Harvard Business School in the USA.

Considering the #FutureOfComponentManufacturing, Yves believes localisation to be the key to success for the automotive industry, as this builds local talent and competencies within the country and benefits the economy overall in a sustainable way.

What advice would Yves give his younger self and all emerging suppliers in the industry? The automotive industry is a multidimensional and complex industry with a wide variety of stakeholders on an ever changing path; Invest sufficient time in understanding, in gaining as much knowledge as possible, and in building up a comprehensive network to support you as you grow.
