Automotive Industry Development Centre of the Eastern Cape
(AIDC-EC) was established in 2003 and is a vehicle through
which the Eastern Cape Government promotes and develops the
automotive sector in the province, in order to establish a viable,
competitive industry domestically and internationally, capable of
achieving both continuous growth and sustainable job creation.
Aligned with the objectives of SAAM2035, its key concepts and
precepts to deliver on the mandate of the AIDC-EC in its strategic
intent, centres around lobby advocacy and influencing policy,
facilitating skills development, supporting SMME development
and facilitating automotive investments in the province. Supplier
competitiveness is vital in the global arena and the AIDC-EC flagship
world class manufacturing programs offer the opportunities for
suppliers to remain globally competitive.
