NAACAM concludes #AutomotiveAllies campaign during Women’s Month
During August’s Women’s Month, NAACAM ran the #AutomotiveAllies campaign on its social media platforms. Whilst the representation of women across the general automotive industry remains somewhat low, the components sector has made impressive gains in the last few years, in integrating women into key roles across our member companies.
This includes more women holding senior executive roles, as well as a greater number of women involved in variety of operational and technical roles across Tier 1, 2 and 3 suppliers. It is also important to acknowledge the role of male allies in the sector, who have created a conducive environment for these women to thrive in.
To this end, NAACAM profiled these women and acknowledged the role of their allies over the month. The NAACAM social media platform were leveraged to ensure that the stories and learnings from these women reached a wide audience of both women outside the sector as well as young women who may have an interest in entering the sector.
