Daliff was founded in Cape Town in 1972 as a precision engineering business, and today provides CNC machining capability, supported by best-practice processes, quality management systems and metrology function. The business was acquired from the founding shareholders in 1997, and shortly thereafter embraced a transformation agenda. Today Daliff is 51% black-owned.
In 2006 Daliff undertook a strategic review which culminated in a decision to focus on supplying high tech global OEM’s and their supply chains operating in South Africa.
Daliff entered the global aerospace sector in 2008 as a supplier of machined components into the Airbus supply chain. To achieve this required significant on-boarding of aerospace technology, processes and certification. Including obtaining Airbus vendor approval and EN 9100 :2016 which also includes ISO9000:2015. In 2014 Daliff entered the rail sector supplying Alstom with a local manufacturing capability, based on the experience gained in the aerospace industry.
Daliff sees an opportunity within the automotive sector to apply the experience of on-boarding new technologies from global companies to facilitate increased local manufacturing. While currently our product offering is limited to machining and assembly, the company is considering broadening its manufacturing capabilities to be more closely aligned with the automotive industry’s future requirements for technology innovation and localisation.
