On 22 October 2026, NAACAM and Triiibe Energy, in partnership with Old Mutual South Africa, hosted automotive industry leaders in Sandton for a workshop on how ESG, carbon readiness and Industry 4.0 can help automotive component manufacturers reduce costs, manage risk, and strengthen competitiveness.
Discussions highlighted the growing importance of reliable emissions data, traceability and energy efficiency in meeting customer expectations and maintaining access to export markets. Members also gained insights into assessing their operational and digital maturity, identifying gaps and prioritising investment.
A key takeaway was the importance of establishing a clear baseline to guide practical improvements across manufacturing, energy use, data management and sustainability.
NAACAM thanks Bheki Monareng and Thabo Hollo from Old Mutual for sharing a financing and partnership perspective, and Jullian Britz and Mark Gordon from TRiiiBE Energy, and Derick Bamber from Falcorp Automotive for sharing their insights.
