NAACAM congratulates member Ebor Automotive Systems on the launch of its new plastic injection moulding plant in Kariega. The plant relocation and expansion came on the back of new localisation for the VW Tengo.
The launch represents a significant milestone for a company that started in 2014 and is a genuine industry success story – illustrating that South African-owned automotive suppliers can compete on quality, scale, and technical capability. It also demonstrates the strength of SA’s automotive ecosystem: Ebor’s growth was ultimately made possible through OEM partnership and localisation, developmental finance from the IDC, and supportive government policies, particularly AIS.
