#WeAreNAACAM: NAACAM, represented by the CEO Renai Moothilal, joined a business delegation to support Deputy President Paul Mashatile on a visit to the Republic of Türkiye as part of the 𝗧ü𝗿𝗸𝗶𝘆𝗲–𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 (𝗧𝗔𝗕𝗘𝗙). This event marked an important step towards deepening trade relations, strengthening investment ties, and fostering lasting partnerships between the two countries.
In his remarks, Deputy President Paul Mashatile noted that while bilateral trade between the two countries reached approximately two billion US dollars in 2024, there remains significant potential for further expansion. The objective is to diversify and create a more balanced trade relationship. At present, South Africa primarily exports raw minerals, while Türkiye exports mainly finished products. The aim is to shift this dynamic by fostering value-added production and promoting joint ventures that drive growth on both sides.
In addition, the partnership will be guided by three pillars: diversification, decarbonisation, and industrial collaboration. This approach aims to expand South African exports of manufactured and processed goods, including automotive components.
As part of NAACAM’s outreach efforts, Renai also visited member 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗹 headquarters plant in Düzce and engaged with the global management team to explore growth possibilities for their plant in South Africa. This underlines NAACAM’s commitment to supporting its members as South Africa looks to increase its presence as a globally competitive hub for automotive manufacturing.
