NAACAM – SA’s Automotive industry voice supports women in Automotive industry at 2026 Woman of Stature Awards

The introduction of the Woman in Automotive category at the 2026 Woman of Stature Awards South Africa highlighted the growing influence of women in one of the country’s most dynamic industries.

This category celebrated women who are breaking barriers, driving innovation, and contributing to the advancement of South Africa’s automotive sector.

NAACAM, the voice of the automotive component manufacturing industry, played a key role in bringing this category to life, reinforcing its commitment to industry growth and transformation.

“The automotive sector is evolving rapidly, and women are playing an increasingly important role in shaping its future,” said Lebalang Molobele, Head: Skills and People Development at NAACAM. “This category recognises those who are leading change and driving progress.”

With over 1,000 nominations across all categories, the Awards reflected the growing presence of women in traditionally male-dominated industries.

Charlotte du Plessis said: “This category is a powerful addition to the Awards, recognising women who are redefining what is possible in the automotive space.”

Finalists demonstrated excellence in innovation, leadership, and industry contribution.

The category stood out as a celebration of progress, diversity, and future-focused leadership.
