Mark comes from a humanities and IR background with a particular interest in organisational development as well as developing strategic IR solutions for businesses in order navigate through the SA labour legislative challenges.
Having worked for a diverse group of large manufacturing corporates across various trade sectors Mark has been involved in a number of business organisations since the early nineties to assist in contributing to valuable labour reform initiatives for the sectors he has represented.
Most notably Mark assisted in getting a bargaining dispensation concluded at the time to ensure that the component industry could dispense with plant level bargaining and negotiate centrally within the Mibco structures, against a specific NAACAM mandate. Such arrangement was aimed to bring about IR stability in the OEM supply chain and in turn created a platform to explore labour solutions and bargaining strategies where practical with the broader automotive industry. Mark has for the last 18 years run his own HR and general business consultancy service with a number of colleagues.
