NAACAM Attends 6th South African Investment Conference

The NAACAM team is proud to be attending the 6th South African Investment Conference (SAIC) at the Sandton Convention Centre today.

The scene was set by the Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, Hon. Parks Tau, who highlighted the critical role of investment inflows in advancing South Africa’s national priorities.

In his keynote address, His Excellency Cyril Ramaphosa reflected on the launch of SAIC in 2018 as a platform to position South Africa as a destination of choice for both domestic and foreign investment.

A notable example of success emanating from a previous Investment Conference is NAACAM member, VM Automotive, a 100% black-owned company that announced a R426 million investment in 2019 for a component plant in East London, now contributing to the supply chain of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

The President further emphasised the strategic importance of the automotive sector, and its transition to new energy platforms, in driving economic growth, job creation, and industrial development.

NAACAM looks forward to announcing the 2025 component sector investment figure later in today’s programme.
