#WeAreNAACAM: Today, NAACAM hosted the Gqeberha / Kariega Regional Meeting (Q1 2026), bringing together members from across the Eastern Cape automotive component manufacturing sector in Gqeberha / Kariega.
The purpose of the meeting was to provide members with an update on the current automotive landscape and NAACAM’s activities, as well as to create a platform for meaningful engagement on sector-wide and regional matters affecting the Gqeberha / Kariega supplier base.
The session opened with meeting objectives from Nozipho Ngcobo, NAACAM Project Manager, followed by welcoming remarks from Marshal Myburgh, NAACAM Gqeberha Regional Chair. This was followed by a presentation from Christine Heunis from Siyaya, who provided members with an overview of the proposed B-BBEE amendments and their potential implications for the automotive component manufacturing sector.
Members also received a NAACAM industry update from Nduduzo Chala (Cert.Dir.)(MBA), NAACAM Chief Operations Officer, followed by an open discussion session where members shared insights, challenges and opportunities impacting the automotive component sector in Gqeberha / Kariega. The meeting concluded with closing remarks from Luvuyo Sineke, NAACAM Gqeberha Regional Vice Chair.
Following the meeting, members continued networking and engagement at the DG Capital Charity Bowls Day, which provided an informal platform for further connection among industry stakeholders.
