The 2021 Automotive Export Manual publication has been released by Dr. Norman Lamprecht on behalf of the Automotive Industry Export Council (AIEC).
The Automotive Industry Globally, has experienced unprecedented challenges due to the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic, with global lockdown restrictions implemented across all major automotive manufacturing countries. South Africa has not been insulated from the pandemic. The visible effects of COVID-19 on the South African automotive industry’s performance are highlighted in the 2021 Automotive Export Manual publication.
The AIEC represents the interests of seven major motor vehicle manufacturers/exporters in the country namely, BMW Group, Ford Motor Company, Isuzu Motors Ltd., Mercedes-Benz South Africa, Nissan Motor Corporation, Toyota Motor Corporation and Volkswagen Group South Africa, as well as the 13 Manufacturers/Exporters of Trucks and Buses, and about 450 Automotive Component Suppliers in South Africa.
