25 August 2026: This afternoon, NAACAM hosted the Gqeberha/Kariega Regional Meeting and member appreciation event at NewBreed Holdings, bringing together members from across the Gqeberha/Kariega automotive component manufacturing sector.
The meeting provided members with an update on the current automotive landscape and NAACAM activities, while providing a platform to engage on key industry priorities, challenges and areas requiring collective attention.
Included in the meeting was an overview of NewBreed holdings by its MD, Luvuyo Sineke, who also serves as the NAACAM Gqeberha Regional Vice Chair. This was followed by a presentation by Kabelo Mpurwana of Nelson Mandela University on engineering skills & Industry-Academia Collaboration, and the launch of the NAACAM KPMG Private Enterprise Barometer report, presented by Alan Barr.
Beth Dealtry and Nozipho Ngcbobo provided the NAACAM update presentation, with a particular focus on current ongoing sector policy discussions.
The meeting concluded with remarks from Marshal Myburgh, Regional Chair and Schaeffler MD, who reflected on the importance of engagement in ensuring continued collaboration across the association and its regional membership base.
A plant tour of NewBreed Holdings and member appreciation networking followed the meeting.
